Home Sweet Home
I returned home from Russia with a colorful range of mixed feelings: happiness, excitement, fear, relief, sadness, love, pain, pride, shame, remembrance and hope. I was so happy to finally see and hug my aging parents again, but I felt shame that I wont be able to spend every minute of my life with them. I also felt fear to have to leave them again and at the same time I experienced an elevation of the deep LOVE I feel for them. I started to think creatively of how I can improve their lives and make any transitions easier. How I can maintain their health for as long as possible. At the same time I missed painting and my art friends, who have become like a second family to me.
I now know one thing for sure, at this moment my parents are the most important people in my life and I want to protect them and make their lives as comfortable as possible. I'm so relieved to have been able to arrange the care-giving and I will go back to Russia in 6 months to make sure my parents are happy with that arrangement. I'm now so incredibly happy to be home, to see my friends and students, to start creating, painting and thinking like an artist again. Finally I'm back home.
Home Sweet Home!!!!

Finally....
Dear Friends,
My eight months saga of awaiting my Russian passport, all the walking around the offices of the Russian Consulate, up and down, has finally come to an end! My passport is ready and I'll be flying to Russia on November the 4th. So I'm taking a month off from teaching but not from painting. I'm planning to paint while I'm there.
A big thank you to everyone who has kindly been asking about my parents and supporting me over this difficult year.

I would also like to take this opportunity to invite you to a few
events, where you can see my latest paintings in person and hopefully be
inspired to buy something. So please mark the following events on your
calendar.
I was juried into a great exhibiting venue at the University House Wallingford, a show curated by June Sekiguchi. Two of my works, together with many other works by talented artists were selected for this unique show, called "Foundations: Circle, Square, Triangle". Artist's Reception and Gala will be held on Thursday, October 15th from 5.30-7.30 at the University House Wallingford 4400 Stone Way, Seattle Wa. Please call to RSVP 206 454 8400 before October 12th.
I also cordially invite you to my second Open Studios tour at the Magnuson Park Building 30West on October 18th from 1-5. It's going to be a spectacular event with 30 studios open to the public, wine tasting, live music throughout the building and a great Greek food truck will be parked across the street.
Another great opportunity was presented to me, by Puget Sound Group of Northwest Artists, when I was selected for a very limited artist's show in a private Rainer Club. Please let me know if you want to attend the opening Gala on October 27th 6-8. By RSVP only.
Last but not least - you can bid and buy lot's of my small work at a very low price on two great selling platforms:
https://www.artfinder.com/artist/emiliya-lane/artworks/
and http://www.dailypaintworks.com/ar…/emiliya-lane-2169/artwork
Thank you for your continued support, interest in my art and friendship.

"Repairing ..repainting..revaluing...
Pulling out the big guns ..And totally repainting this baby ..some people ask me why I repainting or do facelifts to old pieces instead of making new ones.. Well .. I have one but simple answer - It's soo much FUN!!!
Not to mention it's much needed..The paintings I'm recovering are asking for it, screaming for those "facelifts"

I'm much happy with this piece already...The values are up, the colors are higher , the key is higher...
